How To Write A Killer Sales Letter

Anyone who has every done sales knows, that it is a tough field to be in. Writing a sales letter is also a tough thing to do for the best of sales people, but writing a Killer sales letter is even tougher. Many sales managers spend hour wondering why they can’t get their sales letter just right.

It really isn’t that hard if you think about this way, “put yourself in your customers shoes and ask what benefit would I get by reading this sales letter?” Remember that word “benefit” which should be the focus of your letter. Many sales people take bits and pieces of information from here and there and create a sales letter that is just that “a sales letter”. They literally throw every sales pitch they ever learned on people and then they get what they deserve, instant rejection.

A sales letter should not be an introduction of your product or company. Every word is important in the sales letter so do not waste a single one, which might distract your potential customer’s attention. They are not interested in the features of you product but an offer could be a “benefit” (there is that word again) to them. Think from the customer’s point of view and ask yourself why should I read the letter? Is there any “benefit” or offer to me which cannot be refused? Can you convince me that it is really an offer I can’t live without?

The header or the headline is very crucial to any sales letter. It should be targeted directly to the customer, it should pose a question that requires further investigation. Your header should not pose questions that can be answered with a “yes” or “no” answer, they should require further reading to identify which mistakes the author is referring to. Titles that promise solutions to your customers needs are the best.  Such as “How To…” or “10 Keys to …” are usually a safe bet and effective.

The headline should not be more than a line, so try to be as specific as possible but with maximum affect. Nobody has time to read each and every letter in this fast paced era of instant gratification. If you are not able to convey your message to the audience in the first few seconds, then you have lost those customers.

Now, having made a good effort with the heading, it’s the time to work on the body of the letter. You need to maintain the level of enthusiasm that you created in the customer’s mind with the heading. Once again it is important to remember to not to focus on features of the product you are trying to sell but on the “benefits” it has for your customer. Things like how much money it is going to save them and how it would affect their lives should be mentioned.

Make them realize how they can’t live without your product. 90% of sales is emotional, people buy because they want to make their life better, want an answer to that long standing problem they have had.  They want to gain more time in the day, and make their lives easier. If you can show them how your product can achieve these things, you have a good chance of making the sale.

Remember, a person reading your sales letter will constantly have questions in mind as to how this will benefit them, So be ready to clear those doubts and answer the questions. Have testimonials that talk about the questions others had and how your product solved those problems for them.

Do not forget to prompt your audience to take action. If it is an email, prompt your reader to click on a link to act now or provide a contact number if it is a direct mail. Also remind them again that if you don’t act now you will forfeit the offer as the offer is for limited time only or only 100 more available. Make them feel a need for urgency to buy now!

Once you are done with the letter, one of the important parts of the sales letter is P.S. Many people simply read the beginning and end of the letter. So, try to convey something that will prompt them to go back to the letter and read it. It will be a perfect end to your killer sales letter.

So you want to be a work at home mom (wahm)?  You want to be your own boss and you do not want to get into the Network Marketing.  So, what can you get into if it’s not Network Marketing?  Read on, I found a great article that talks about this situation.

People who want to start a Home Business are looking for more control of their life, and to achieve financial freedom, as millions people are doing. There is too much uncertainty in our lives today, and the only way to change this is to become our own boss. It’s never too late!!

There are many ways to make money from home. However, they are not all equal. Depending on your background, and skill level, picking the right home business for you will determine how successful you’ll be. Success comes from learning and sharing. There are several successful business people who are willing to help you, like Mike Klingler, Julie Salgado, Debra Morrison, Lisa Diane, and me. You just need to learn how to find them.

So you want to make money from home, but Network Marketing doesn’t appeal to you. You’re not interested in talking to a lot of people, and going to meetings. You don’t want to learn how to become a great Leader, and recruit people into your business. So what can you do to make money from home?

There are several ways to build a Home Business, but it all takes some form of marketing, except the type where you are handling rebates for a company, processing insurance, or other forms of clerical work. But these are more like a job, since you don’t build any residual income, and when you don’t work there is no income.

There are Affiliate Programs where you promote other peoples products through your website, which requires you to advertise on the internet, and other media. Even though an Affiliate Program is the easiest to get into, with no risk, you still need to learn how to market, and draw people to your website. You don’t need to recruit others, but you’ll want to have others join your program, so you earn a referral fee. You can get marketing training from Mike Klingler’s Renegade University program.

So how can a person make money from Home, if they don’t want to be a Network Marketer? The Internet offers great opportunities…

1) You can write a book about a subject you have some knowledge of, and a passion for, such as Landscaping, Cooking, Pet Care, and other topics. But you need to be sure you are writing about a subject people need, not want. You need to research the Internet to see what’s being promoted, so you’ll be able to sell your eBook. That takes time, so you won’t be generating any income for awhile.

So while you are working on your book, you’ll want to join an Affiliate Program to generate an income, and gain experience.

2) Look for an Affiliate program that has a step by step training program, where you are promoting eBooks, and CDs that Network Marketers, and other Home business owners need. I think Michael Cheney’s Affiliate Millions has one of the better programs. He takes you step by step, so you can make money right away. And has a great support program to help you if you have any problems. You can also use ClickBank. Below you’ll find the link to the site.

3) If you want to work towards becoming a millionaire you want a program offered by a multimillionaire who knows how, and will show you how to become a millionaire, such as Lisa Diane’s Millionaires Training Course. The website link is available at the bottom of this article.

You have read and heard the HYPE on becoming a millionaire, with this program, or that one, and want to know the TRUE STORY…

Well the story is there are a lot of people making one million dollars a year, or more on the Internet, and in Network Marketing. But there are more making less than $500 per month, which is fine if you just want some extra money each month. That would call it a hobby, not a serious business.

What’s the difference? Well it starts with selecting the opportunity that’s right for you, not just the right opportunity. There are a lot of opportunities, but which one is right for you is an important question. It starts with what you want to accomplish, and then understanding the business you select. You should join one that will be there all the way to help you reach your goal.

People who make one million a year or more, within two years are not new to Internet or Network Marketing. They have a track record of success, and have been big money earners in their current or past business. They know what to do to duplicate their success.

So whether you are a seasoned Internet or Network Marketer, you need to learn the method that will bring you the same result as the millionaires.

What Is Direct Selling? And Is It Right For You?

Every year thousands of men and women across America sign on with direct selling firm-Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Amway, or a cosmeticcompany-hoping to make money enough for new draperies, a new sofa, or some new clothes. They sell a little merchandise to a few relatives and close friends. Then they throw in the towel. They quit before they give themselves a chance to learn the basics of success in their direct sales business. “I am simply not a born salesperson,” they often say. No one is born a salesperson, any more than one is born a doctor or born a lawyer. Sales is a profession and one you have to work hard at to learn. To be successful in any profession one must learn not only the basic techniques, but also how to apply those techniques. Success in sales makes use of all the abilities one is born with, plus all those acquired through education and experience. If you are looking for a career opportunity or “extra income” to help with the family budget, direct selling offers you dream-fulfilling possibilities. However, you must give yourself time to learn the techniques of sales. Ask yourself. “How long does a doctor need to study? A lawyer need to study?” WHAT IS DIRECT SELLING? Direct selling is marketing a product directly to the consumer with no middleman involved. Most reliable firms are members of the National Association of Direct Selling Companies. They bring to the public fine products that are modestly priced in order to insure mass consumption. Most direct selling companies furnish their representatives with a starter kit and essential supplies below-cost prices. In many instances the investment is under $100. Many direct selling representatives have been able to change their lives for the better. They have taken their families on nice vacations. They purchased a piano or an organ and provided music lessons for their children. They saved money for college education. They redecorated their homes, bought needed furniture.  

The rewards of direct selling are many

1. You can be your own boss.2. You can set your own hours.3. You can own your own businesses with little or no investment.4. You can pay yourself more than any boss would ever pay you.5. You can give yourself regular raises as your business grows. It is only fair to tell you that there are failures, too. There are people who will not work for themselves. When working for a boss, they rise early, are well-groomed, and get to the office on time. However, when they are their own boss, they are still in a bathrobe, drinking one more cup of coffee at 11:00 A.M. If you can be your own boss and discipline yourself to do what has to be done when it has to be done, direct selling offers a most unusual earning opportunity. Ask your self these couple of questions to see if you are right for a direct sales business. 1. Am I an honest person?  People need to believe in you if you  are going into sales. 2. Do I really like people?  You are going to have meet a lot of  new people in your direct sales business. 3. Am I willing to learn?  You will have to learn everything needed to run a successful business. 

4. Am I willing to work? Starting as a new business owner, you  will wear all the hats of your particular business. i.e. Accountant, Sales Person, CEO, Advertising agent, etc.

 5. Am I capable of being my own boss?  When no one is telling you what to do, can you push yourself to get the job done? If your answers are yes, to these questions, you might be a good fit  for the direct sales field.  Now, find a good product for your direct sales market, one that you like, one that fills the need of a lot of people, and go to work for yourself! .You can turn dreams into reality.
